Sunlighten Sauna Review

I have owned my Sunlighten infrared sauna since December 2023 and use it several times a week. I bought it after my husband's heart surgery (sauna has a lot of researched backed heart health benefits) when we moved into a house that finally had room for a full-size sauna. It was a big investment and a deeply personal decision and I have now had over two years to form an honest opinion about whether it was worth it.

Saunas are a big purchase, so I definitely encourage you to actually talk to Sunlighten before you make your decision. If you tell them Heal Nourish Grow sent you, you will get the best pricing available. This is not a generic coupon code situation. It is a real relationship I have with the company through my work with Connie Zack on the podcast, and they will take care of you.

This full review is being updated with detailed sections on each Sunlighten model, pricing transparency, my EMF testing experience, and a side-by-side comparison with other brands. In the meantime, you can read about the research-backed health benefits of infrared sauna in my infrared sauna benefits guide, or listen to my podcast conversation with Connie Zack from Sunlighten where we discuss the technology, quality differences between brands, and why full-spectrum matters.

Cheryl McColgan is the founder of Heal Nourish Grow, where she writes about protein, body composition, healthy aging, and evidence-based nutrition and wellness along with the everyday habits that actually make those things work in real life.

With a background in psychology and graduate training in clinical psychology, plus nearly 20 years of experience in editorial and publishing, Cheryl approaches health from both a research and real-world perspective. She’s also been immersed in fitness and nutrition for more than 25 years, which gives her a practical lens most purely academic content tends to miss.

Her work today focuses heavily on protein intake (especially for women), muscle retention, metabolic health, and sustainable fat loss, along with topics like sleep, wellness, recovery, and wearable health tech. You’ll also find a mix of high-protein, low-carb recipes designed to make hitting those goals easier without overcomplicating things.

Cheryl’s interest in health and nutrition became more personal after navigating her own health challenges, which pushed her to dig deeper into how lifestyle, diet and daily habits impact long-term health. That experience continues to shape how she approaches everything on this site: practical, realistic, and focused on what actually works over time.
