OneSkin Before and After: My Results

I started using OneSkin in February 2025 and have used it every day since. That period covered contest prep, international travel, dry Utah winters, plenty of stress and several calorie-deficit phases. My baseline photo is from February 2024, before I had ever touched the products, so it shows a real starting point rather than a flattering one.

The changes were not overnight and they were not dramatic. Around month three I noticed smoother tone and better texture. By month six the improvement was clear enough that other people commented on my skin looking healthier without being able to name what had changed.

The Part Most Reviews Leave Out

I cannot give you a totally clean before and after. I have been on hormone therapy since October 2020, including a transdermal estradiol patch. Estrogen is not a minor variable for skin. A review in Climacteric summarizing decades of research found that estrogen treatment in postmenopausal women repeatedly increased skin collagen content, dermal thickness and elasticity. My nutrition, sleep, protein intake and retinol use all sit in the same picture.

So what I can tell you is that OS-01 has been the most consistent new addition to my routine since February 2025 and my skin has improved over that window. Anyone showing you a dramatic single-variable transformation from a moisturizer is either lucky or not counting their other variables.

OneSkin Product Reviews: Every Product I Use

I use seven products from OneSkin, though not all of them daily, and the whole routine takes a few minutes morning and night. Here is my honest take on each.

OS-01 Face Moisturizer Review

This is the anchor of the system and the product I would tell you to start with if you buy only one thing. It is a lightweight gel that absorbs fast and never feels greasy. I use one to two pumps morning and night after cleansing.

The texture layers under sunscreen and makeup without pilling. I am on my third bottle since February 2025, so each one runs about six months at twice-daily use. That changes the cost math considerably: $117 spread across six months is roughly 65 cents a day.

This is where I have seen the biggest change in overall texture, hydration and tone evenness. The formula pairs the OS-01 peptide with hyaluronic acid in three molecular weights and niacinamide.

OS-01 Face SPF 30 Review

This one surprised me and it has become the product I reach for most predictably. The consistency is light, it goes on without the heavy cast that mineral sunscreens often leave and it wears well under makeup all day.

The bigger point is that the tint gives enough of a finish that I often do not bother with makeup at all. I wear the Light/Medium shade. For a daily sunscreen that also functions as light coverage, $56 is reasonable against what a separate SPF and tinted moisturizer would cost, and daily sun protection is the single highest-return thing you can do for aging skin regardless of what else is in your routine.

OneSkin also sells an OS-01 Body SPF 30 that I have not tried, so I am not going to tell you whether it is worth buying.

OS-01 Eye Cream Review

The eye cream carries the highest concentration of OS-01 in the line, which makes sense given that the skin around the eyes is among the thinnest on the body and shows age faster than almost anywhere else.

I use about half a rice grain per eye, tapped gently around the orbital bone morning and night. A little goes a long way. I am still on my first bottle, which at $109 works out to well under 20 cents a day.

The fine lines around my eyes are where the improvement is clearest, and you can see it in the dated photos above. It is not a transformation. It is the cumulative effect of doing the same small thing twice a day for a long time.

OS-01 Body Moisturizer Review

Here is my honest position on this one: I own it and I use it inconsistently. Some weeks it is part of my routine after every shower and some months the bottle sits there. That is a me problem rather than a product problem, but it shapes what I can tell you.

What I can tell you is that the difference is noticeable when I am consistent. The crepey texture on my arms and chest looks better during the stretches when I use it regularly, and it goes back to baseline when I stop. That pattern is repeatable enough that I trust it. Whether the credit belongs to the peptide or to simply being well hydrated, I cannot separate.

The formula uses OS-01 at a lower concentration than the face products alongside ceramides and niacinamide. A Dermatology Times report covered a study in which older adults using it for 12 weeks saw up to 41 percent improvement in hydration along with reduced inflammatory markers. At $105 this is the product I would skip unless you know you will apply it.

PREP Facial Cleanser Review

PREP is the only product in the line without the OS-01 peptide. Its job is to clean without stripping and to prime skin so the peptide absorbs better. OneSkin currently claims it improves peptide penetration by 2.2 times compared with cleansing another way, which is their own internal figure rather than independent data.

It is gentle enough for twice-daily use, takes off light makeup and sunscreen and does not leave my face tight. At $46 it is expensive for a cleanser. It is the product I would drop first if I were trimming the routine to essentials.

OneSkin Lip Mask Review

This is my favorite product in the line and the one I am most confident recommending, because I have used it every single night since it launched over a year ago without missing. That is not a claim I can make about anything else here.

I wake up with lips that are hydrated and plumped rather than coated. Most lip products lay down a film that wears off in a couple of hours. This one feels like it does something to the tissue overnight. One container lasts months, so the $42 stretches further than it looks. If you deal with cracked lips in winter, this is the product from the line that will make the fastest visible difference.

OneSkin Lip Shield SPF 15+ Review

Lip SPF is easy to overlook, and the skin on your lips is thin and exposed. For someone who spends as much time outside as I do in summer, it earns its place. The formula pairs the OS-01 peptide with mineral protection and goes on smooth rather than waxy. It comes untinted or in a tinted Bare Blush shade. Between the mask at night and this during the day my lips are covered around the clock.

OS-01 Hair Scalp Serum: First Look

I have the hair serum and have not started using it, so I am not going to pretend to review it. OneSkin applies the same senescent cell science to the scalp and the follicle environment. I need to habit stack this one to build the routine. Hair takes at least three months before anything meaningful shows up, so I will write it up properly once I have real data rather than a first impression.

Does OneSkin Help Crepey Skin?

This comes up constantly and it deserves a straight answer rather than a marketing one.

Crepey skin is thin, finely wrinkled skin that shows up most on the chest, arms, neck and under the eyes. It comes from the same underlying process the rest of this review is about: collagen and elastin decline, the barrier weakens and skin holds less water. Aging skin also loses moisture faster. In a study in Pharmaceutical Research, researchers found that older skin lost roughly 29 percent more water and took about twice as long to recover after the skin was occluded, though that comparison was between people aged 69 to 85 and people aged 19 to 42, so it describes an extreme of the curve rather than what happens at 45.

In my experience, OneSkin helps crepey texture in two places and does not fix it anywhere.

• Under and around the eyes: this is where I see the clearest change, and the eye cream is the product doing it. The dated photos above are the crepiness I am talking about.
• Arms and chest: better during the stretches when I use the body moisturizer consistently, back to baseline when I stop.
• What it does not do: it will not tighten loose skin or reverse significant laxity. Nothing topical will. Devices are a different category and the data there is better than most people assume. In a multicenter trial published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, a blinded physician panel found that 90 percent of people using a home nonablative fractional laser improved by at least one wrinkle grade during the active treatment phase, falling to 79 percent by the end of maintenance, and the study ran without a control group. Note that is wrinkles rather than laxity, and in-office treatments go further again. I covered one of these home devices in my NIRA review. If loose skin is your concern you are looking at a device or a dermatologist rather than a cream, and any product promising otherwise is marketing. If I ever find a cream that does it, I will be shouting it from the rooftops.

Worth saying: hydration alone improves the appearance of crepey skin temporarily, which is why almost any decent moisturizer will seem to help for a few hours. The question is whether anything changes underneath and that is where the peptide research below is relevant.

The Science Behind OS-01 Peptide

What sets OneSkin apart from most of the category is that there is published research to argue about at all. Most anti-aging creams work on the surface. OS-01 targets cellular senescence, which is one of the root drivers of skin aging.

What Are Senescent Cells?

Senescent cells are damaged cells that stop dividing but refuse to die. They accumulate in tissue and secrete inflammatory signals that damage the healthy cells around them. Over time this impairs repair and accelerates visible aging: wrinkles, thinning, dullness and loss of elasticity. If you have heard longevity people talk about zombie cells, this is what they mean.

Senotherapeutics are compounds that clear or modulate these cells, and the field extends well past cosmetics into tissue health and regeneration. If you want the broader picture, I wrote a complete guide to peptides that covers where OS-01 sits among them.

What the Research Shows

The lab study. In npj Aging, researchers ran a two-step screen that identified Peptide 14, which became OS-01. OneSkin says the screen covered more than 900 candidate peptides. The paper reports that Peptide 14 reduced senescence burden in human dermal fibroblasts and lowered the DNA methylation age of aged ex vivo skin, working through the PP2A enzyme complex to support DNA repair. This is laboratory and ex vivo work on skin samples rather than a trial in living people, which is the right way to read it.

The human trial, and its limits. A 12-week split-face, double-blind, vehicle-controlled study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology tested OS-01 in 22 participants. It found significantly reduced transepidermal water loss and reduced periorbital wrinkles on the peptide side. Two things about it deserve more attention than they get. Every author except two academic collaborators works for OneSkin. And skin texture and radiance improved on both sides of the face, with the peptide side merely doing better, which means the base formula was doing real work on its own. Twenty-two people is also a small study.

The safety paper nobody cites. This one I think is the most useful and I almost never see it referenced. A study in Toxicology Reports put the peptide through Ames, micronucleus and karyotyping genotoxicity testing, plus a repeated insult patch test in 54 human participants that produced no visible skin reactions. If your question is whether a novel peptide is safe to put on your face twice a day, that is the paper that addresses it. Same caveat as the other two: seven of its eleven authors work for OneSkin.

Taken together: the mechanism is well characterized in the lab, the human efficacy data is real but small, the safety data is stronger than the efficacy data, and every one of the three papers was authored by the company selling the product. That is more than almost any skincare brand can show, and it is still less than a pharmaceutical standard of evidence. Both of those things are true at once.

Is OneSkin Legit, Non-Toxic and Pregnancy Safe?

Is it legit? Yes. OneSkin is a real biotech company founded by longevity scientists, and the OS-01 peptide has cleared peer review three separate times: a senescence and biological age study in npj Aging, a 12-week split-face clinical trial in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and a safety and genotoxicity assessment in Toxicology Reports. The fair criticism is the price, the size of the trials and the fact that OneSkin scientists authored all three, not the credibility of the company.

Is it non-toxic? The formulas are fragrance-free and free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and PFAS, and they are non-comedogenic and dermatologist tested. What makes OneSkin unusual in the clean beauty space is that “non-toxic” is not just a claim on the label. The genotoxicity testing and the 54-person patch test in Toxicology Reports are published data, which is rare for a novel cosmetic ingredient. If you are working through your household more broadly, I keep a running list of the swaps I have made in my own kitchen.

Is it safe during pregnancy? This is the question I get most from readers and the honest answer is that nobody has studied it in pregnancy, because almost no cosmetic ingredient is. What I can tell you is what the formula does and does not contain. There is no retinol, no salicylic acid and no hydroquinone, which are the three most commonly avoided actives in pregnancy. The peptide itself passed genotoxicity screening. That is not the same as being cleared for pregnancy, and OneSkin does not make that claim. Ask your OB before adding anything new and understand that the reason nobody can give you a firm yes is a lack of studies rather than evidence of a problem.

OneSkin vs Retinol: How Does OS-01 Compare?

I use both (I started using tretinoin long before OneSkin), so this is a question I have had to answer for myself rather than theorize about.

Retinol accelerates cell turnover, pushing the top layer to shed faster so newer skin surfaces. It works on wrinkles, acne and uneven tone, and it comes with peeling, redness, dryness, sun sensitivity and a pregnancy exclusion.

OS-01 does something different. Rather than turning cells over, it aims to make the cells you have behave younger by reducing senescent burden. It supports the barrier instead of temporarily disrupting it, so there is no peeling and no adjustment period.

Note that last row, because it cuts against OneSkin. Retinol has a far deeper independent evidence base than any peptide on the market. OS-01 is the more interesting mechanism. Retinol is the better proven one.

Which is why I use both rather than choosing. Retinol at night, OS-01 morning and night, and I skip the retinol on nights when my skin feels reactive. OneSkin states there are no adverse interactions between OS-01 and retinol, vitamin C or hyaluronic acid. OneSkin's own lab comparison found both raised the collagen biomarker COL1A1 similarly, while retinol also produced a tenfold increase in CDKN2A, a senescence-associated marker, which OS-01 did not. That was measured at five days, so it describes an acute response rather than a long-term outcome, and it is the brand's own data.

What People Say About OneSkin on Reddit

Search One Skin reviews and Reddit threads rank on page one, which tells you people are looking for unsponsored opinions. Having read through them, the recurring themes are worth summarizing straight.

• The price is the number one complaint, by a wide margin. This is the most consistent criticism and it is fair.
• Plenty of people report no visible difference. Often after four to eight weeks, which is too short a window for this mechanism. Some report nothing after longer and that is real too.
• Skepticism about company-funded research comes up repeatedly and as I covered above, it is a legitimate point.
• People who like it tend to describe barrier and texture changes rather than wrinkle erasure, which lines up with both the published data and my own experience.

My read: if you are expecting a visible wrinkle change in two months, you will be disappointed and the Reddit skeptics will look right. If you are treating it as a long horizon investment in barrier health and texture, the reports look different. Set your expectations to the second one or do not buy it.

OneSkin is expensive and it got more expensive in 2026. Here is what things cost right now, including what happens when you stack subscription pricing with my code.

The part most reviews skip is how long these last. My face moisturizer runs about six months a bottle at twice-daily use and I am on my third since February 2025. I am still on my first eye cream. Is it worth it? If you are currently buying three or four separate serums and creams that add up to similar money with thinner evidence behind them, consolidating here makes sense. If you are choosing between OneSkin and a daily sunscreen habit you do not have yet, buy the sunscreen. Nothing in this line will outperform sun protection you are not using.

How to Use OneSkin for Best Results

This is the routine that has worked for me and how I fit OneSkin into a broader longevity plan.

1. Cleanse with PREP morning and night. Optional, but it is designed to prime skin for the peptide.
2. Apply OS-01 Face after cleansing. One to two pumps into face and neck.
3. Apply OS-01 Eye. A small amount, tapped around the orbital bone.

When I have a variable I cannot control for, like being on hormone therapy while testing a collagen-supporting cream, I put it in the review rather than leaving it out because it complicates the story.
