Beautycounter Review: Toxin Free Makeup and Skin Care

In the past few years, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of using clean beauty products. Clean beauty products are free of chemicals and toxins that can be harmful to your health. There are many ingredients banned in Europe that are still used here in the US. Ingredients containing hormone disruptors wreak havoc on your health, hormones and weight. In addition, some ingredients still used in the US cosmetics industry are known carcinogens. This Beautycounter review will tell you more about the products and why you should be switching to clean beauty.

Founded in 2013, Beautycounter is a clean beauty skincare and cosmetics company. They are committed to transparency and safety. The company's mission is to create safer products for people to use every day. Beautycounter sells a variety of products, including skincare, makeup, hair care, and sun care. The company has a “Never List” of over 1,500 ingredients that are never used in their products. They are also transparent about all of the ingredients they do use in their products.

Clean Beauty

Since I've been working on cleaning up my skincare and makeup for a few years now, I finally decided to try out some of their products to see if they lived up to the hype. One nice thing about Beautycounter is that it offers one-stop shopping. No more having to research a bunch of different products to see if they contain harmful ingredients.

Two of the biggest things to avoid are parabens and phthalates. Parabens mimic estrogen and disrupt your endocrine system. Phthalate is a chemical used in plastic and can affect your reproductive system.

I find comfort in using beauty and skincare products that don't have hormone-disrupting chemicals and toxic ingredients. Since I've tried many other brands of clean beauty products for years now before Beautycounter, I feel qualified to make an honest comparison.

Beautycounter Review: Can You Believe What You Find?

Finding a totally unbiased Beautycounter review is difficult. I know because I looked before trying it too! To be clear, I liked the products so much that I now have a link for them. The importance of cleaning up your environment and what you put on your skin can't be stressed enough. So if you want to make it easy on yourself like I wanted to, there should be no reason you wouldn't try these products.

Most of the Beautycounter reviews you may find will be from consultants, but that doesn't mean they don't love the brand. I find the product to be effective, feel good and work as well or better than many of the other clean beauty products I've tried. They also offer a lot of sales and perks if you join as either a customer or consultant, which can save you a lot of money over other clean beauty brands in the long run. Plus you get to play with makeup as well as help and meet new people.

BeautyCounter Review: Products

The first product I tried was the All Bright C Serum. Since I have a lot of hyperpigmentation this was a no-brainer. This serum is designed to help brighten the skin, which it definitely does! It's a potent 10 percent blend of two forms of vitamin C, turmeric, and camu camu. I can tell a difference in the evenness of my skin tone after using it for a couple of months. It's antioxidant-rich, which helps defend skin from the damaging effects of environmental stressors.

Beautycounter review
Brighten skin tone and fight hyperpigmentation

I love that it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

Next, I tried the Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser. It deep cleans without drying. It also exfoliates with gentle jojoba beads. it has a great citrus scent and my skin feels refreshed without being dried out. The SkinBalance Complex also helps mattify skin and reduce redness.

Finally, for this Beautycounter review, I tried the Beyond Gloss in the shade Peony. I'm a glossaholic and wear gloss almost exclusively, so I'm very picky. This lip color is a beautiful pink shade that looks great on everyone. It's sheer, conditioning and transparent so it's subtle but very pretty. Also, the lip gloss is formulated with a blend of waxes (beeswax, candelilla wax, and organic carnauba wax) to lock in moisture and has a mild vanilla scent. With their Beyond Shine Filter Effect, you get an ultra-glossy look without feeling goopy. The texture is perfect.

Natural Deodorant

I've also been using their deodorant and shampoo/conditioner. I've tried SO. MANY. BRANDS. of natural deodorant with varying success. Many of them are just so disappointing because they don't work. I end up smelling like a gym in less than a day. If you're new to natural deodorant, there can also be a couple of weeks of “detox” so don't give up on them right away without a fair trial.

So far, Beautycounter deodorant has been working great. I'll report back when I actually start doing hot yoga again after the Vagabond Tour and of course, the real test is summer weather.

The shampoo and conditioner have a nice smell and leave my hair feeling soft and looking full. For me, that's about all I'm looking for but it will be interesting to see if there are changes after using it for a longer period of time.

Beautycounter Review: Pricing and Sales

Since I've started shopping with Beautycounter, I've noticed they have plenty of sales and opportunities to save money. For example, right now during the Black Friday sales time, prices have been reduced along with the ability to receive credit for future purchases.

Lucious and moisturizing!

In addition, you can always get two percent cash back on your purchases with Beautycounter through Raktuen.

I've been using their service since 1999 (back when it was eBates) and have saved over $3000 over the years. It all adds up! Many stores often increase their cash-back offers around the holidays, so be sure to start there for all of your shopping this year.

Have you made the switch to clean beauty products? If not, I would highly recommend giving Beautycounter a try.

Their products are effective and safe, and they are committed to transparency. I think you will be as impressed as I am. If you need help choosing products or want to know how to save the most money, be sure to get in touch, I'm happy to help!
