Lemon Blueberry Mojito – Keto Low Carb Recipe
I couldn't let summer get away without sharing this delicious keto blueberry mojito recipe with you! I made this a couple of times this summer entertaining poolside before the big move and it was always a hit. A blueberry mojito with lemon flavor makes this sugar-free drink extra refreshing.
Adding fruit to your cocktails can be tricky. Most fruit has a lot of carbs, but berries and in particular blueberries in moderation are keto friendly.

Keto Cocktails
One of the easiest ways to make keto cocktails is to be careful with your mixers. Cocktail mixers are generally the biggest source of carbs in a cocktail recipe. Things like bloody mary mix, ginger beer, margarita mix and more often have lots of sugar or corn syrup.
I've linked the mixers mentioned above with great sugar free, clean ingredient and low carb versions that I use!
Another major source of carbs is traditional simple syrup. It's full of sugar and using it is a surefire way to increase the carb count in your drink. The best way to keep your cocktails keto friendly is to use Keto Simple Syrup. It's super easy to whip up a batch and it lasts a long time. Since a traditional mojito uses simple syrup, we're using that recipe here to make this version a keto mojito with the extra refreshing addition of low carb fruit, blueberries and lemon.

Blueberry Mojito Mocktail
Looking for a blueberry keto mojito mocktail? This variation is ridiculously easy! All you need to do is leave out the rum, substitute a little extra sparkling water and this keto drink is still quite delicious and alcohol-free.
You may also want to try an alcohol free rum such as Ritual. Their products are sugar-free and zero carb, plus you can get 20 percent off at checkout with HNG20.
Are Blueberries Keto Friendly?
You know I don't like calling any specific food “keto”…ketosis is a metabolic state, not a food. However, certain foods are more keto friendly than others and berries, including blueberries are a good choice. A cup of blueberries has about 84 calories, 22 grams of carbs, 4 grams of fiber (18 net carbs), two grams of protein and near zero fat.
Since this keto mojito recipe has 8 servings, the carb count works out to around 3 net carbs per drink with all of the ingredients added. As always, carb count depends on the nutrition information you use as well as the exact ingredients you use.
Want to cut carbs even further? Reduce the amount of blueberries in the mojito recipe to 1/2 cup and add some sugar free blueberry extract.
